Military Wedding in Sauk Rapids, MN

According to Alison, Joseph is notoriously bad at keeping surprises a secret. The pair had planned their weekly date night, and Alison recalls him acting overly excited about it. She came home after work and turned around to Jason on one knee. He wanted to wait until dinner, but was so excited he couldn’t wait! Looking back, Alison says, "It was so perfectly us. So casual, spontaneous and oh, so sweet.".

The two chose to have a small and intimate courthouse wedding with their close military family in North Carolina. After moving back to Minnesota, they wanted to celebrate with all of their family and friends here, so they did! The couple chose their one year wedding anniversary to re-tie the knot. They incorporated many personal touches, but our favorite was that they had donuts for dessert because their first date was at a donut shop in North Carolina. How sentimental (and delicious!)

Despite the unknowns of Covid, their day was magical and even more amazing than they could’ve dreamed of. We love that they chose to dance to "You're Still the One" By Shania Twain at their recommitment ceremony. Check out some highlights from their special day:

Alison shares her wedding planning advice:

"Much easier said than done, but don’t stress the small stuff! In the grand scheme of things, something will go wrong. It’s inevitable. But at the end of the day, you’re married to your person and there is no small detail, rainy day, missing jewelry, or cranky bridesmaid/groomsman that can ruin that!"

Thanks for sharing your beautiful day with us, Alison and Joseph!
