Rustic and elegant winter wedding in Eden Prairie, MN

The pair were spending a long weekend out of town in Chicago. After walking around Millennium Park, they made their way over to the gorgeous Buckingham Fountain. Kevin went over to grab a gentleman that was taking photographs, handed him Mallory's phone, and surprised both the gentleman and Mallory by getting down on his knee to pop the question.

Of course, Mallory said "yes" and was ecstatic! The kind man that took their photos was just as excited. He shared that he had been married for 50 years and was so excited for them to start their lives together. The rest of the weekend was spent celebrating and enjoying lots of delicious food, celebratory drinks, and lots of sightseeing.

Mallory and Kevin wanted to focus on having a big party for their loved ones to celebrate their nuptials. They wanted a one-stop venue that could handle their ceremony, dinner, and party... and they got exactly that with Green Acres. They loved that it had two levels, making it easier for people to spread out and still have plenty of room for everyone to bust a move.

Mallory always wanted a rustic wedding with elegant details and Kevin and a lot of his extended family grew up on farms. So Green Acres was perfect since it had that rustic and quirky feel, but also was gorgeous with chandeliers and soft lighting throughout.

We are absolutely loving the elegant details from their day!

Even though the couple had to make several changes during the planning process, including cutting their guest list significantly, the venue worked with them to help make it the best day.

Mallory shares her wedding tips:

"Remember that the wedding is about you and your future hubby and to focus on what will make the day most special for you. While others opinions can be helpful when wanted, don't go outside your comfort zone to make others happy. Everything works itself out."

She also suggests tackling your big vendors first and then work on the little details.

"Spreading out those little details from the time you find your date to the actual wedding will help keep you sane during the process!".

Thanks for sharing your beautiful day with us, Mallory and Kevin!
