Sota Virtual Wedding Fair

Updated: Nov 16, 2020

You might be asking yourself what is a virtual wedding fair and how the heck does it work? Read more about this fun, unique event below!

So... What is it?

We are hosting a virtual version of a wedding fair via Facebook Events. You can check out the event here. We have a bunch of vendors that are ready and excited to (virtually) hang out with you. Each vendor has given us their information, exclusive deals they will be offering, as well as photos and videos for you to look through to get an idea of who they are and what they do.

They are planning to be online as much as possible during the event to connect and answer any questions you may have. If you want to set up some time for a more in-depth consultation, you can also ask the vendor to message or video chat you as well! All you have to do is say "message me" or "video me" and they will reach out to you via private message to set up a time to chat. This is a great way to see what their personalities are like, ask questions, see more examples of their work, and see if they would be a good fit for your big day.

Each vendor is also putting together a video for us to share with you. This might be wedding tips, wedding inspiration, or just more about them and what you could expect if you chose to book with them.

When you purchase access to the event you will also receive a digital event program. It will include all of the info you'll need to know, so you can make sure you've seen all of the posts from the vendors, keep track of all of the giveaways, track which vendors you spoke with, and "heart" them if it is a vendor you think you'd like to book.

Other things that you can expect during this virtual fair:

  • Both days there will be multiple amazing giveaways from vendors (You can see what they are on the event page!)

  • Live trivia with Ali & Caitlin with prizes for winners

  • 2021 wedding trends and Q&A with Adore Magazine founder Kat Minks

  • Live walk through of Mendakota Country Club

  • Free 2021 trend guide via email for all attendees from Adore Magazine!

How to make this event fun from home:

We think this would be an awesome event to celebrate with your bridal party. Plan on getting dressed up cute (or cozy!) and put together a hot chocolate bar or a mimosa bar. Maybe even get some wedding day crafts done, play some games while you chat with vendors, and watch the live features we have to offer.

Sota Brides is putting together a fun "Viewing Box" for you to purchase. Each box comes with things you'll need to pull off a successful girls day in! From hot cocoa bar contents, a cute MN blanket, custom hair ties, games, yummy recipes, and more! Quantities are limited and you can order one of your own here. Final day to order is November 17th!

If you're feeling super extra, make yourself an at home photo booth... Possibly even order up some cake samples and get to tasting. Be sure to share all of your photos and videos on Instagram with #SotaWeddingFair and #SotaBride for a chance to be featured on the event wall!

FAQ:

  1. Does everyone that's coming need to purchase event access? No, we recommend that the bride (and/or groom) purchases event access. Only those that purchase access can enter the giveaways and will be able to reference back to the event once it's over. The giveaways are only available to those who have paid event access.

  2. Do I need to be online the whole time? You don't need to be online the entire time. We will do our best to have the most accurate event schedule posted that will tell you when we are broadcasting live and when giveaways are occurring. Giveaways will have a limited timeframe in which you can enter, so you'll want to keep an eye out for which ones you want to enter and be sure to be online for those. Live videos you have the ability to watch at a later time if you miss them.

  3. What is a Viewing Box? A cute, fun box of goodies to make this event more exciting at home. May as well make a day of it right?!

  4. How many vendors can we expect to be there? We currently have nearly 40 vendors that have signed on to be a part of the virtual fair, but the amount continues to increase!

  5. What kind of deals can I expect at the fair? These are still rolling in from vendors as the days pass, but so far we are seeing anywhere from $200-$1,000 off package prices and add-ons for free!
