Bethany & Adam 12.19.20

Updated: Feb 10, 2021

Intimate Winter wedding with decor inspired by Christmas in St. Peter, MN

Bethany and Adam are big Mankato Maverick's Hockey fans, If you couldn't tell from their engagement photos! The two went on a trip to Michigan to watch the Maverick's take on the Huskies in November of 2019. Between games, Adam had planned a hiking trip for the two of them to a local waterfall. Most of us are now thinking, Michigan...November...this sounds like a cold adventure! Bethany had similar thoughts and was a bit wary of the situation with the foot of snow covering the ground, but Adam had a plan. To her surprise, Adam proposed to her overlooking the waterfall, she of course said YES! They enjoyed a moment of tranquility overlooking the lake and fresh snow and continued on with the rest of their romantic hike in engaged bliss.

When their wedding day came, they made the best of the situation with the restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. They chose to have their bridal party and closest family members attend their ceremony and tried to incorporate as much of their original plan as they could.

Bethany chose to use Sola wood flowers. She made this choice partially because she can now keep her bouquet as long as she likes, and to avoid any issues with guests being allergic to real flowers. Her bouquets also hold extra sentimental value, as her mother-in-law and sister-in-law were the ones to create the pieces for her!

We are loving that custom handkerchief - we could all use a reminder to keep our sh*t together, especially during pandemic times and on such an emotional day!

Bethany's best tip for planning is:

"Stay flexible, but also stick to your guns! Keep your ultimate goal in mind and don't stray away from your dreams."

They recognized that some details needed to be changed, but at the end of the day they are so happy with how everything turned out.

Congratulations Bethany and Adam! Your day looked beautiful and full of love. You'll certainly have a unique story to share one day about getting married during a pandemic!
